Porcelanosa and Foster+Partners create the Tono bathroom collection

News > Porcelanosa and Foster+Partners create.

Porcelanosa and Foster + Partners, the international architecture, engineering and design studio, have worked together to create TONO, a bathroom collection with a complete and coordinated set of bathroom products for use in many different settings, from residential to commercial interiors.

The elegance and functionality of each piece has been the driving force behind the development of TONO, and superfluous extras have been avoided. In this way, every element is highly efficient due to the technological advances used. An example of this is the optimization of water flow in the washbasins. In short, the result is a collection in natural hues, softened edges, without frills but with luxurious detail and always in fine and natural materials.

The series covers an ample range of finishes and materials to fit into different places and settings. The furniture is made from maple, walnut or oak which provide warmth. The washbasins, flush or counter mounted, the bathtubs and the mirrors are available in limestone and marble, stylish to the touch, as well as in porcelain and KRION®. All this because other companies from the Porcelanosa group such as Noken y KRION® have also participated in the project.

The use of solid wood makes Tono bathroom furniture, accessories and mirrors, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

L’Antic Colonial features three of its stonewares in this bathroom collection, all with a classic finish: Habana Dark and Capuccino Grey marble and Calgary limestone. Furthermore, it is worth pointing out that all these high precision handcrafted satin-sheen finished pieces are unique. Washbasins, mirrors and bathrooms forged in this stylish, strong and durable material.

Vitae appears as an integral bathroom collection meant to arise as the new bathroom design. Noken and Zaha Hadid Design have come to a revolutionary notion for the bathroom. This new series features astounding elements that remind us of the spectacular designs created by Zaha Hadid.

Fluid lines that evoke water flow are the leitmotif of this outstanding collection. For this reason it has been named Vitae (“life” in latin), because in water is where all sort of life begins. This is Vitae, a collection with incomparable designs that will stand for a revolutionary notion in the bathroom.

Dame Zaha Hadid was widely regarded to be the greatest female architect in the world today. Born in Baghdad in 1950, she studied mathematics at the American University of Beirut before starting her architectural journey in 1972 at the Architectural Association in London.

By 1979 she had established her own practice in London – Zaha Hadid Architects – garnering a reputation across the world for her ground-breaking theoretical works including The Peak in Hong Kong (1983), the Kurfürstendamm in Berlin (1986) and the Cardiff Bay Opera House in Wales (1994).

Working with office partner Patrik Schumacher, her interest was in the interface between architecture, landscape, and geology; which her practice integrates with the use of innovative technologies often resulting in unexpected and dynamic architectural forms.

In 2004, Zaha Hadid became the first woman to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize. She twice won the UK’s most prestigious architecture award, the RIBA Stirling Prize: in 2010 for the MAXXI Museum in Rome, and the Evelyn Grace Academy.

Porcelanosa Bathrooms is the branch of Porcelanosa Group which focuses in the bathroom design. Its aim is to create an outstanding integral bathroom concept.

Within Porcelanosa Bathrooms, Noken specializes in bathroom elements, and brings sophisticated design in brassware, sanitary-ware, bathtubs, etc., with a total quality concept, pursuing complete customer satisfaction, guaranteeing them our best quality, design and innovation.
